Hi, I’m Rémi, a software engineer. I usually do cool stuff.
I actively work on side projects that bring together design, performance, and user experience. I’m the founder of StoreUI.net, a React-powered interface layer designed to streamline the creation of beautiful, fast, and feature-rich WooCommerce front-ends. I also run GuttyPress.com, a site focused on exploring the Gutenberg editor’s capabilities, providing advanced blocks, tools, and insights for developers building modern WordPress sites.
Since September 2024, I’ve been part of the amazing team at BeAPI, a leading French WordPress agency, where I work as a software engineer and proudly wear the hat of “AI guy”, exploring how artificial intelligence can improve WordPress workflows, performance, and development practices.
Previously, I spent 11 incredible years at Automattic (2013–2024), where I grew from a support engineer to a team lead and WooCommerce developer, contributing to woocommerce.com and the broader Woo ecosystem. I also created and maintained plugins and themes sold on platforms like CodeCanyon and built custom solutions for Easy Digital Downloads, WP Job Manager, and more.
Beyond development, I’ve written tutorials and deep-dives for major WordPress publications like WPExplorer, Envato Tuts+, WP Kube, and the official WooCommerce blog. Sharing knowledge has always been central to my journey.
You may know me from plugins like WPdonations (temporarily retired), or from speaking at events such as WordCamp Paris, WPtech, WPMX, WordCamp Montreal, and TEDx. I also co-organized WordCamp Bordeaux 2019 and three editions of WP BootCamp, aiming to make WordPress education more accessible and hands-on.
This site is my digital playground, a place to share experiments, tutorials, and thoughts around WordPress development, especially on the more advanced, less-documented aspects of plugin and theme building.
Oh, and when I’m not coding, I’m handcrafting leather goods as a self-taught artisan. You can check out my work at my boutique, À la Française, and I also make guitar straps at BrudStraps.com.
